Preparing for Auditions
The following is a list of dance technique and skills that are utilized in JV Dance. Mastery is not necessarily required to make the team, but the list gives an idea of what hopefuls can be practicing in order to prepare for auditions.
*Basic Ballet Technique
*Controlled High Kicks
*Basic Double Turns and Double Pirouettes
*Two Turns in Second to a Double
*Flexibility/Splits
*Skills such as Grande Jetes, Russians, Calypsos
*Ability to Learn Choreography Quickly
*Ability to Adapt to Different Styles
Please keep in mind that although this list gives an idea of what we do, please do not let a lack of dance background keep you from auditioning. We have members on the team with experience that ranges from years to none!
