Kayla grew up in Bastrop, Tx where she started dancing at the age of 12. In High School, she was a member of the Bastrop High School HoneyBears drill team. Throughout her time on Honeybears, Kayla served as Sophomore Lieutenant her sophomore year, and Captain both her junior and senior year.
Upon graduation, Ms. Roper attended Trinity Valley Community College where she was a member of the internationally acclaimed TVCC Cardette dance team. Throughout her 2 years on the Cardette dance team, Kayla has performed at the Dallas State Fair Parade, the Chuy's Thanksgiving Parade, and the Texas Legends Halftime Show. Her sophomore year as a Cardette, she traveled with the elite competition team to perform an award winning Jazz routine at Dance Team Union Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ms. Roper graduated with an Associate's Degree from TVCC.
Continuing her education, Kayla transferred to Texas State University where she pursued her degree in dance. During her time at Texas State University, Kayla has performed in numerous ensembles and choreographed award winning routines. Ms. Roper graduated Magna Cum Laude with her BFA in Dance Education.
At the end of her Student Teaching with Dripping Springs HS, Ms. Roper was delighted to accept the position as Hi-Stepper Asst. Director and Dazzler Director. Her love for dance inspires her to remain committed to aiding others in finding their individual ways of expression through the arts!
